Much like Mothers Against Drunk Driving was created to reduce drunk driving, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America was created to demand action from legislators, state and federal; companies; and educational institutions to establish common-sense gun reform.

Moms Demand Action is a non-partisan grassroots movement with over 4.5 million supporters and chapters in all 50 states.

The evening's live music by Skip Murphy and The Merry Pranksters

Imagine if you will, eight veteran working musicians, who play in more than a dozen bands, getting together for the love of the music. If you can, then you are thinking of The Merry Pranksters. The Pranksters play only a handful of concerts each year. Yet every one seems to be a night to remember.

Skip Murphy: Harmonica,attempted vocals, bandleader and shepherd. Once the leader of the swing band “Out of The Blue” he has played with many great groups and now is at the helm of these tune smiths. Skip is also a “SAMMYS Hall of Fame Award” winner and can be seen regularly playing with many of Syracuse's finest musicians.    

Sharon AllenEvery good band needs a female vocalist to make us swoon and that is Sharon Allen. She sings with power and grace. Sharon can be seen, and heard, playing with many great groups, such as “The Big D Orchestra”, “Better than Bowling” and “The B Side”. Sharon also a featured artist in many local productions such as “Beatlecuse,” “Respect” and “Ridgestock.” She is a joy to enjoy.

Mark Gibson: Guitar and Vocals are his specialties and “Mr Soul” is a real delight. He has played in many great bands such as “The Mercurys”. Currently the frontman for the Stellar “Ron Spencer Band”, Mark's RnB work is always a crowd favorite.

Dave Liddy: Piano Maestro extraordinaire, Dave is a mainstay in the upstate New York music scene. In 2015 Dave was inducted into the NYS Blues Music Hall of Fame. Dave currently plays with “Blueprints”. “Moss back Mule Band”, and “String Bee”.Dave has been playing and smiling musically for more than forty years.

George Newton: Pedal steel and vocals. George has long been known as the premiere pedal steel guitarist in upstate NY. George has recorded extensively and currently plays with “The Big D Orchestra”,and “Better Than Bowling”. George also plays in many of the great productions  such as “Ridgestock”

Mike Ranger: Bass is his instrument and Mike has a long history playing with too many band s to mention . Mike currently plays with “The Strangers”. The “Baron of the Bottom” has long been respected for his solid bass work.

“Big D” Dave Schneider: Guitar and vocals are his forte'. “Big D” also runs the “Big D Orchestra”. Long known as a wonderful slide player, “D” also sings like a meadowlark and has been playing around upstate for many years. A joy to listen to, his playing has thrills audiences wherever he plays.

Wayne Stevens: Drums. Mike Ranger's partner in rhythm has kept the beat going for many groups for a long time. A favorite with crowds throughout the area, His solid play has made him a favorite to listen to and enjoy. Wayne currently can be heard playing drums with “Better Than Bowling.”
